Is there a military solution to the Gaza problem?
I do not believe there is a military solution to the Gaza problem, only a diplomatic and political one; military power is only a tool of diplomacy. But, I do think the role of military power now is to finally convince Hamas that its program of continued violence against Israel is futile, that they will never be able to eliminate Israel, and therefore to help them understand once and for all that they can best achieve their goal of a Palestinian state via negotiations and diplomacy, not armed resistance. It's the same sort of realization that Egypt and Jordan came to, and why they ultimately chose the path of peace
